10:00 AM: Lecture #1: The Anatomy of Abuse

An examination of the origin and nature of abuse, the strategies used by abusers, and the consequences to the victims, with an emphasis on abusers in positions of authority over others.

11:15 AM Lecture #2: Circling the Wagons

A survey of the different ways in which institutions further harm the victims of abuse by seeking to protect the abuser’s reputation at the victim’s expense. Circling the wagons only compounds the harm arising from the original abuse, often worsening it exponentially.

1:15 PM: Lecture #3: Justice and Healing

Most abuse stories don’t end well, but those that do have key elements in common. The successes apply all three Messianic actions in Isaiah 42:3: “A bruised reed He will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice unto truth.” Recovery is accessible when justice is prioritized rather than thwarted.

2:15 PM: Question & Answer session
