Dr. Punyamurtula S. Kishore, who was featured in Martin Selbrede’s series of eighteen articles (see sidebar) in Faith for All of Life and who is the subject of the upcoming film Hero in America (now completing post-production) has died as a result of COVID-19.
Born June 3, 1950, he died on June 20, 2021 at 6:15 PM EDT. He had been hospitalized since late April, 2021 and had been on a ventilator for most of that time.
His pioneering work in the reconstruction of addiction medicine is without peer. He leaves behind an extraordinary legacy, one all the more significant because of the vindictive statist hostility against which he faithfully and sacrificially labored for his patients’ sake.
As he enters into his rest, may the next generation of Christian physicians pick up his torch and run with it with as much boldness as Dr. Kishore always mustered.
