We at Chalcedon maintain that Rushdoony's Law and Liberty is a great starting point to introduce the idea of Biblical Law as the foundation for liberty.  Over the years, Andrea Schwartz has conducted classes with homeschooling students using this text as the basis for group discussion to encourage participants to express themselves in an articulate way.

Most recently, her outreach has been extended to Puebla, Mexico, where missionaries Roger and Marcy Oliver run a Learning Center.  They currently have over 50 students (with a waiting list) who work in a self-paced environment with the Word of God as the underpinning of all subjects.  As part of their English Conversation Class, Andrea Schwartz (via Skype) is having them read aloud and discuss Law and Liberty. She assists them with their pronunciation, grammar, and provides an opportunity for them to converse in English.

This short volume was translated into Spanish a number of years ago.  The students first read each chapter in Spanish, followed by reading it in English.  On conversation day, they each get a chance to read aloud and then they participate in a time of questions and answers - ones that are posed to them and some that generate from them.

As Roger Oliver commented, "They are learning English and Biblical Law."

Your support of Chalcedon makes such outreaches possible.
