If you want to ship a package from central Texas to Winnipeg, Canada, it makes sense for it to travel north through Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, the Dakotas, before finally arriving in Winnipeg. Every waypoint along the route gets you closer to the ultimate goal. In postmillennialism, God guides history to move us qualitatively closer to the ultimate target.
