The word Evangelism has a very interesting meaning and history. It comes from the Greek, ‘Evangelion’. It is translated usually in the New Testament as ‘Gospel’. Its meaning in the Greek is “The reward brought by a messenger bringing news of victory.” It also meant: “The good news of victory.” So it can be translated also as good news, or gospel.
