EC371:  Marriage has been under a rather steady and often unrelenting attack from the time of Darwin to the present for a century and a half almost.  The perspective of many was that evolution would in time eliminate marriage as we know it, because marriage as we know it was a product of a religious perspective and mankind would shortly outgrow it.
